Why It Matters
The Scope Changes Everything
A pre-purchase inspection is only as good as its scope. A poorly written scope instructs the MRO to check things that don’t matter to value and miss the items that do. An experienced inspector attending without a clear scope is not protection — it is the appearance of protection.
We develop inspection scopes based on the specific aircraft type, serial number, engine programme status, maintenance history, and your planned use. A Gulfstream G650ER scope is different from a Bombardier Challenger 350 scope. A high-cycle aircraft scope differs significantly from a low-cycle owner-operated aircraft.
Our FAA-appointed principals attend in person. We review records independently before the physical inspection begins — log book gaps, STC documentation, AD compliance, and component traceability are evaluated at the records stage, not discovered as surprises at the facility.
What We Review
Records, Systems & Airframe
Engine Programme Status
Programme enrolment (MSP, Smart Parts Plus, RRCC, Pearl Advantage, JSSI), coverage scope, transferability, upcoming scheduled events, and any open claims or exclusions. An off-programme engine carries fundamentally different cost exposure.
Maintenance Records
Log book continuity, airframe and engine logs, component traceability, STC paperwork, 8130-3 tags, AD compliance, and repair documentation. Records gaps identified before the physical inspection begins.
Avionics & Compliance
FANS 1/A, ADS-B Out, CPDLC, RVSM, and route-specific compliance. Navigation database currency, avionics software versions, and open deferred maintenance items on avionics systems.
Airframe & Systems
Physical inspection of airframe, flight controls, landing gear, hydraulics, fuel systems, pressurisation, oxygen, and interior. Flight test where warranted. All squawks documented, prioritised, and used in purchase price negotiations.
